What’s Xmas All About?

November 27, 2008 by Susan Denny

Xmas to me is joining the crowds to shop for gifts for the people I love, cooking a plum pudding and a Xmas cake and organizing the food for that special day. It’s about Xmas decorations, putting the tree up and singing along to Xmas carols.

It’s a day, when we as a family, all get together to eat, talk and laugh, and enjoy each other’s company. We reminisce over past years and the highs and lows of each year.

We remind ourselves that we have a great family and that they all want to share Xmas Day with us. I know of many families who are estranged from some of their family members, so I am grateful that my children and grandchildren love coming to our house.

It’s not only immediate family that we catch up with. I speak to my 3 brothers and their families, who all live some distance away from us, as well as my husband’s family. We catch up with friends we sometimes haven’t spoken to for over a year or more as well as our International friends.

So what is Xmas all about? To me it’s all about family and spending time with them, catching up with what’s been happening in their lives and making plans for the year to come. It’s also a time for reflection over the events of the past year so that we can look ahead to the New Year with anticipation.

2009 - The New Year Is Almost Upon Us

November 17, 2008 by Susan Denny

Did you know that 2009 will be welcomed in just over 6 weeks from now?

This year has absolutely flown by and the New Year is fast approaching.

How will you celebrate New Year’s Eve? Will you go to a swish hotel, an intimate restaurant or will you be among thousands of people all enjoying the festivities together?

Whichever way you choose to celebrate it, do it in style with a drink in your Fun LED Glassware Cocktail, Martini or Shot Glass. It’s a fun night anyway, so why not add more colour by drinking out of a light up flashing glass. It will certainly put you in the mood for a party.

Imagine being on a boat out in the harbour with you and your party guests sharing a drink using your LED light up glasses. You will definitely be noticed by other passing craft and spectators on the shoreline. What a great way to welcome in the New year.

Fun LED Glassware is all about having fun, and welcoming in 2009 with glasses which will enhance the celebration is the only way to party!

Happy New Year 2009!

Secret Santa

November 10, 2008 by Susan Denny

It’s almost time for the Xmas party and you need a gift to take for Secret Santa (or Kris Kringle).

Why not give something different, like a Fun LED Wine/Cocktail or Martini Glass? It’s an inexpensive gift and can be used by anyone, even if they don’t drink alcohol. There’s always Mocktails!

If you want to spend a bit more then why not buy a box of 12 Shot Glasses? It’s a great gift to give to someone who has everything, and you’ve run out of ideas.

You could also host a Xmas party and offer your guests a Fun LED glass to have their drinks in. At the end of the night you could tell your guests that the glasses are a gift from you for Xmas. What a great way to end a fun filled night and one they won’t forget!

For the perfect Xmas gift why not give a bottle of flavoured Rum in a basket with 2 Fun LED Wine/Cocktail or Martini glasses? They will then have the ultimate party starter!

Make your Xmas party a night to remember filled with fun and laughter.

Emerging From A Dark Past

November 6, 2008 by Susan Denny

Spare a thought for those who don’t live in a democratic society and have to go to court to fight for their rights and hopefully win the court case.

Here’s an article from the Telegraph Calcutta 3rd November 2008.

High spirits after entry of bar girls

“They were eager to serve. Now, the bar has finally been raised.

Karnataka High Court’s permission to allow women bartenders in the state has raised the spirits of those wanting to break into the job, one of the last male bastions that hadn’t crumbled all these years.

The petitions had been filed by two women, Roopa and Anasuya, saying the excise act forbidding women from being employed in places where liquor was served should be amended.

Potential employers didn’t seem to have a problem. Sanjay and Jayaram, who own bars and restaurants where liquor was served, had told the judges they did not have any objection if permission for the move came through.

The government had taken a more cautious line, saying any decision on allowing women into the job should take into account security concerns.

Bartending has long been risky, a fact brought into focus by the April 1999 murder of Jessica Lall, a celebrity barmaid in a Delhi restaurant, over a quarrel that had allegedly arisen from serving liquor”.

Isn’t it great to see these 2 women stand up for themselves and have the right to earn a living anyway they want?
